Who We Are
Andrewspalli Centre for Integrated Development (ACID) is a non-profit organization registered in 1997 with its Headquarters in Andrewspalli, Santiniketan, West Bengal.
The plan of this organization was initiated way back when a group of friends and associated with social work, decided to provide nourishment to the malnourished, poor, deprived and socially backward people. ACID was their way out. With the passing of time, some of these members went out to pursue further studies and established themselves in different fields, but all of them stayed in touch and supported ACID from distance. However three of the founder members became the most important pillars of ACID and started working with the support of the professors and academicians from Visva- Bharati University.
ACID nourishes and empower people by making the communities and its people self-reliant and self- respectful. The organization has been working with marginalized and vulnerable communities to bring sustainable changes through its various interventions in West Bengal. ACID’s governing committee consist of development professionals and academicians from Visva- Bharati University. The organization implements most of its project in collaboration and consultations with various stakeholders and networks at local, district and state levels.
