Andrewspalli Centre for Integrated Development (ACID) is a non-profit organization registered in 1997 with its Headquarters in Andrewspalli, Santiniketan, West Bengal.
The plan of this organization was initiated way back when a group of friends and associated with social work, decided to provide nourishment to the malnourished, poor, deprived and socially backward people. ACID was their way out. With the passing of time, some of these members went out to pursue further studies and established themselves in different fields....

On 9 March 2026, the ACID team alongside ANMs, GNMs, ICDS representatives, and Anganwadi health workers conducted a comprehensive awareness session on reproductive health and menstruation for adolescent boys and girls.
To combat malnutrition and enhance dietary health among sponsored children and their families, ACID has established homestead nutrition gardens across the intervention zone of Sundarbans. Recognizing that fresh produce is financially out of reach for many vulnerable households, the organization distributes seasonal vegetable seeds three times a year. This is paired with hands-on training in sustainable cultivation, empowering families to grow their own nutrient-rich food and diversify their daily meals.
In a remote village within the Hingalganj block, a bright 15-year-old Class X student faced a sudden crisis. Known for her academic excellence and active role in her Learning Centre’s Child Cabinet, her future was thrown into jeopardy when poverty and social pressures forced her parents to arrange her marriage to a significantly older man.
To foster innovation in the classroom, ACID successfully organized a comprehensive professional
development training titled “Empowering Teachers Through New-Age Pedagogy” in November and
December 2025. The initiative focused on modernizing traditional teaching frameworks and equipping
educators with the tools needed to build future-ready classrooms.
The intensive training deepened teachers' understanding of modern, student-centric methodologies,
including:
The 5E Model (Engage, Explore, Explain, Elaborate, Evaluate) to structure high-impact lessons.
Competency-Based Learning (CBL) to ensure students master specific skills rather than just
memorising facts.
Experiential Based Learning (EBL) to bridge the gap between theory and practical life.
Inquiry-Based Learning (IBL) to nurture critical thinking and independent problem-solving skills.
Moving away from theoretical lectures, the program utilized immersive hands-on demonstrations,
collaborative group simulations, and real-world classroom applications. Teachers actively participated in
designing interactive lesson plans that shift the classroom dynamic from passive listening to active
exploration.
Together, ACID and the participating educators successfully reimagined instructional methods. By
integrating these progressive approaches, teachers are now empowered to spark curiosity, ignite
creativity, and deliver deeply meaningful learning experiences for every student.
Real learning transcends the walls of a classroom, it thrives within people, culture, and community.
Embracing this philosophy, the Seva Vibhaga of Patha-Bhavana, Visva-Bharati, organized an inspiring
Village Visit Program on 15 March 2026. Facilitated by the Andrewspalli Centre for Integrated
Development (ACID), this immersive exposure visit allowed young students to connect deeply with rural.
life, exchange perspectives, and share joyful moments with the local community.
The day was enlivened by a vibrant cultural exchange that beautifully celebrated local tribal traditions,
music, and the timeless grace of Rabindra Sangeet Nritya. This artistic convergence brought everyone
together, fostering a deep sense of unity and mutual respect.
In a meaningful gesture of solidarity and care, senior students from Patha-Bhavana’s Seva Vibhaga
distributed essential school supplies - including durable school bags, water bottles, and sitting mat - to
the children attending the ACID run Learning Centre in Binodpur tribal village. This thoughtful
contribution directly supports the young learners in their daily educational journey, leaving a lasting
impact on the village.
On 14 November 2025, the Andrewspalli Centre for Integrated Development (ACID) celebrated Children’s Day by organising a vibrant children's cultural event. The event took place on the premises of the ACID Learning Centre in Binodpur, a tribal village located within the Bolpur-Sriniketan Community Development Block. Designed to celebrate childhood and promote holistic development, this initiative provided an invaluable platform for children from historically marginalised sections of society. In an area where access to creative expression and personal development opportunities is traditionally limited, this event served as a vital space for self-expression. Aligning with the spirit of children's rights, the celebration underscored the importance of ensuring the comprehensive growth of every child. The program aimed to give young participants a stage to showcase their unique talents through various cultural activities. Beyond individual artistic expression, the event was structured to promote inclusiveness, foster social awareness, and encourage collective efforts toward community development. By bringing the community together, this collaborative gathering successfully strengthened local partnerships, laying a solid foundation for future developmental initiatives in the region.
